Flow State Business
Welcome to the Flow State Business Podcast. Iβm Ruby, founder and CEO of Flow State Business, and I help coaches and service providers build a business that sells every single day without launches, funnel stacks, sales calls, or the grind.
This show is all about daily sales and finding your flow state within that. I share exactly how I build evergreen, passive sales using a simple bridge model that turns small offers into a full ecosystem, so you can make sales while you sleep and grow toward your first million in flow.
I have spent 8 years in business and generated more than 4 million dollars in sales, and these days I run everything from the Gold Coast with my husband Michael and our two boys. I learned the hard way that more launches, bigger teams, and constant hustle do not buy you freedom. So I stripped it all back, built a model that actually fits my life, and now my masterminds sell out and sales come in almost every day on autopilot.
Each week you get solo episodes packed with the exact tactics behind selling daily, plus honest conversations with other founders and leaders building in flow. You will walk away ready to take aligned action and build a business that feels as good as it looks.
Press play and enjoy the binge.

Recording this one from my hotel room in Singapore, cheeks hurting from smiling all day π€
The last couple of months have felt heavy. Nothing bad happened, sales still coming in, clients still signing.
But the energy just sucked back in and I hated it. That cruise control feeling after you've been flying.
So I made it my mission to fall back in love with my life and business. And it started with something so small. A glass of sparkling water.
Almost every client I've sat with lately has said the exact same thing, so I know a lot of you are feeling it too.
Here's your reminder, and your little challenge for the week π₯

Hello, guys. I am recording this from my hotel room in Singapore after just having caught up with two of my clients for a VIP day. So I am just feeling all the feels, and honestly, I have butterflies. My cheeks hurt from laughing and smiling so much today, and I wanna capture this energy on the pod. So this will be nice and quick, to be honest, because I've been speaking my face off all day, and I have something that I really wanna share with you that's on my heart. And then after this, we're gonna go and play tourist, and I've just met up with my parents, who happen to be traveling through Singapore at the same time. So we're gonna go to the Avatar Trees. I don't know the actual name, but you know the, the trees in Singapore that all light up? So if you've watched Crazy Rich Asians, that's where they had their wedding. Anyway, I'm gonna go there and just be tourist and enjoy. But I knew I had to jump on. So this is what is on my heart. I have been on an actual, actual mission to fall back in love with my life and business. The last couple of months have been heavy, and I can't explain to you why that is, and I've been doing my thing. I have been focusing on flow. I have been meeting, you know, and delivering expectations for my clients. But honestly, everything else from an energy perspective has felt like it's just kind of sucked back in a little bit, and I hate that. I can't stand that. It's a yuck feeling because you feel like you're on a roll, and you feel like you're in momentum, and then all of a sudden it just comes to a crushing halt, and you can't explain it. It's not like something bad happened, and it's not like no sales are coming in, and it's not like clients aren't signing up. But you just feel it. You know where it's like, "Ooh, okay, things have kinda gone into a bit of cruise control" after having felt like it's easy to be on the accelerator. So- I made it a mission a couple of weeks ago to stop waiting for the change to happen, because the change always comes around, right? So I know that for a fact. I've been in business long enough, and I've been aware of my energy long enough that I know things always come back around. But instead of sitting there waiting and, and resting, which is not my favorite thing to do, if you know me at all, and, you know, just sort of sometimes just even, like, heaps of hibernation or heaps of meditation or heaps of hypnosis. After a while you're like, "Okay, I'm done with this." Like, can we just do something that's gonna make it feel like I'm back in this control? I know that word is strong, but back in control of the energy. You know? Like, if that makes sense. So this mission to fall back in love with my life started with a couple of things, and this is... I, I wanna share this because it's really got the ball rolling. If you can't tell, I am fully back in this aura of like, "Oh my God, my life is amazing." But I wasn't there a few weeks ago, and I just wanna share what I did to kinda keep things going and flowing and feeling like things were moving forward, okay? Because things definitely got serious, and things got very strategic, and things got very heavy in a way that really felt like it crept up on me. And I know some of you can understand this, because I've literally just held many in-person sessions, a group one, a couple of individual ones, and almost every single one of my clients have expressed the same thing. So I know that if the people in front of me are saying this, the collective are feeling this also. So here is the reminder I want you to lean into right now. Firstly, it's not something that you did that got you feeling stuck or serious or boring. I actually have a theory that the way that social media is set up now, at least for me anyway, it's so hard to not look at what others are doing. Like, even if you try s- super, super hard to focus on your stuff and just to jump into Instagram to post something or just to jump onto TikTok to post something, you really-- it's so hard to not get sucked in to the vortex of the yapping videos and into the vortex of the life sharing videos with heaps of beautiful images. And I don't know, it just sometimes feels like everybody else is just living their best life, and you're just trying to get a post out to m- maybe reach some people and hopefully get a sale, right? And it's like, damn it, why do I get sucked in? So things get serious because all of a sudden you see what others are doing, and then you're like, "Ooh, I wanna funnel hack that person. I wanna work out how they made a million-dollar launch. I wanna work out why they did that." And all of a sudden you're talking to AI about strategy, and then you're trying to optimize something, and then you realize by the end of the week you haven't actually done anything that, A, is productive. You may have been busy, but busy and productive are two separate things. And you've also worked yourself into a corner where you don't actually wanna launch the thing anymore. So I feel like the whole content industry, and if you're a personal brand and coach and mentor, you're in the content industry, runs on the idea that more effort is more virtuous, right? So of course you got really serious about things and heavy-handed with needing to sketch out more hooks and it's like, how many times have you asked AI, "Give me 100 hooks"? And if you're not that person, how many times have you edited what you wanted to say in your caption and rewritten things again and again so that it sounds perfect? And I know, like, some stuff that I've mentioned there is absolutely what I have felt. So a few weeks ago, I started doing something that felt very simple, but it was something that I used to do in the early days of my coaching business that helped me feel alive in it. Alive, alive, alive in it. Isn't that the word that we're searching for? The thing that genuinely makes you light up from the inside out before it all got so serious and got so pressurized. So I gave myself permission to live life like a luxury holiday. Some of you will remember this era where it became my catchcry that so many of you would also hashtag life is a luxury holiday, and these are simple things. So, you know, going back to basics, I started to drink sparkling water again. Sparkling water to me is a representation of the luxury lifestyle because, you know, growing up, my parents would never, ever buy water for the table. Hell, no. Let alone a $9 bottle of San Pellegrino. So when I had enough money to go to beautiful restaurants, I noticed that they would always serve sparkling water, and that to me was just like, oh, locked in. So I started just serving myself more sparkling water with a slice of lemon. I know how simple this sounds, but serving it in a wine glass and taking a minute to sit on my balcony, look over the ocean, and sip on the damn sparkling water, and just be so grateful, like acting as if I was sitting in a hotel and overlooking a beautiful destination, which, you know, I have the blessing of living in a location that literally people come to for holidays. So that's kind of how it started. Then I thought, "Hmm, I wanna travel." Travel always makes me light up. But also the very, you know- Money side of my brain and stable side of my brain is I don't wanna put any, like, pressure financially on the business or on our life savings. I just, I wanna earn to go overseas. And whatever I sell, I will just buy a ticket from what I sell. And the easiest way that I could think of doing that was just to put an email out to my email list to say, "Hey, guys. I'm thinking about going to Singapore." I chose Singapore because it's a close destination to Australia, it's a vibe, it's warm, and I always, you know, I've always wanted to come and visit Singapore. I haven't been here in, like, 15 years. It also, I happen to have an event. My family, my mom and dad, are traveling through Singapore after their travels, so the timing just worked out. So I was like, "Guys, who's in Singapore? Who wants to do a half-day VIP day? Who wants to have a catch-up with me in some form? Just whatever you wanna do, if you're in Singapore, message me." And so like 24 hours later, I got responses, and before I know it, I'm booking VIP days. VIP days paid for my trip to Singapore and a gorgeous five-star hotel and then some. So I'm in profit, and I love it, and it was a go. Another example of how I'm falling back in love with my life, and the business, and the potential, and the freedom to do whatever I want because it feels fun. So hence why I'm here, because it started that way. Similarly, I wanted to-- this year I had this vision to host more in-person events. I talked about this in a couple of episodes ago, and I have just delivered on my second in-person workshop held here on the Gold Coast, and I'm saying held here on the Gold Coast like I'm on the Gold Coast. I'm actually not, but it's just such a habit. Anyway, and oh my God, this room, you guys, it was soulful, heart-led, mission-driven, vision-driven spiritual warriors and entrepreneurs with just the sh- the most incredible sharp vision for their life. But also at the same time, entrepreneurs who are confused and feels like, "Where is the clarity lately?" and, "Where are my people lately?" and, "I'm looking for my vibe, I'm looking for my tribe, and I'm looking for inspiration." So that was kind of like the feeling of the room, and it was incredible. I, I received a note from every single one of the women who attended, and each of them listing out their transformations and h- what they got from the room that day, and I'm ever so grateful that I get to experience this as a coach and someone who's built their brand over eight years. But I wouldn't have had this room full of women if, you know, rewind back even to the start of this year where I had held myself accountable to hosting more in-person rooms. And this is something that was scary at the start, but I'm like, "No, I'm gonna do it." And there is zero regrets. Zero regrets. I think I may do one more before the end of this year, and then I'm definitely doing one January 2027 in Melbourne. So if you're a Melbourne listener and you would like tickets to the boardroom and, and you wanna come mastermind with me for the day in Melbourne, January around the 20th-ish, 20th, 23rd, 25th, around there just before Australia Day, please send me through a DM. So these are examples. And also I started working at more cafes and being around others and not insulated in my home office. Being in hotel lobbies, being in airport lounges, traveling of course. And I think I have another theory, you guys. I use AI to collate my thoughts and to help me make sense of my thoughts. Love it. Best thing that's happened, I feel, in terms of for me getting more shit done that I don't wanna do, and also gathering my thoughts, like I said. But sometimes we can get so caught up in the world of speaking to a machine that, uh, you don't realize, like, you've been in a dark room talking to a machine for some time, which is sort of scary in one sense. And I know not all of you will resonate 'cause I know some of you are like, "I don't even use AI." Like, yes. But others of you are so deep into it that you'll get it. So being around cafes and other humans reminds me I'm here to serve humans and get off the laptop and enjoy a coffee and look around. And I'm not talking about getting to a cafe and plugging in and being on the laptop 'cause that kind of doesn't serve the purpose. I mean, like, not even having, like, music in, but hearing human voices around is what has brought a lot of this energy back. Like I said, it's very simple stuff, but it has just helped me fall back in love with being in the energy of others and being in the energy of my own life. And it's just been... I don't know, it's been actually so wonderful. So today as I was speaking with my two clients, you know, both of them, we, we just had the best real chats and, you know, uh, they were saying, "Oh, I love that you came here to see us." And I'm like, "You guys could do this very easily." And one of them was saying like, "Actually, I'm going to travel very soon for work. I- do you think I should put out a call out to my community and my network and see if anyone wants to catch up?" I'm like, "Yes!" And she goes, "Oh my God, that sounds so fun." And I'm like, "Yes!" And do you know what? Like, I think sometimes we forget that we have this opportunity to do that because wherever you're posting, you have a global market. Your email list, I can pretty much guarantee you'll have people from all over the world in some form. So these are fun things that are available to you, and you don't need a huge audience to execute on these. It's your people. So even if you're serving five people right now, thinking about where they are, you could just literally be like, "Hey, I can come to you and do an in-person session." Now, if you don't wanna do in person, that's fine. I know some of you are mostly in person, and you wanna actually come off that and be more online. Also cool. But just laying out some ideas, ways that you can expand the boredom, and you may not know it, but you're either in boredom or apathy if this episode is resonating with you And that's no fun. There's no flow in that environment. So take this as a reminder. And how daily sales flows into this, by the way, is that, you know, I've drawn a flywheel, a daily sales flywheel on my Instagram feed, so you can go have a look at that. But... And I'll link it below if you wanna have a look at the actual post. But the flywheel is just happening. You know, your daily sales are going on, your passive income is flowing. And I'm not talking about... I think sometimes with passive income, there's this connotation that, you know, you're making hundreds of thousands of dollars, which we'd love. But I'm talking, like, if I'm making three sales a day, and it's making me 300 bucks a day or 500 bucks a day, the flywheel is spinning, and it allows me to live more of my life. It allows me to enjoy more of the fun aspects, such as meeting clients in Singapore, going to New York City, putting on an event in London, enjoying two Gold Coast sold-out events, and just being there with my people all day long. I also had a one-on-one in-person event in Byron Bay, and that came about because of my client's like, "Hey, I'm gonna be in Byron. Would you mind hosting something over there with me?" And I'm like, "Hell yes." And then she's like, "Oh." I said to her, "Well, you should come to the event." She's like, "When's that?" I said, "Well, it's the day before, so come to the event." Fun, fun, fun. Actually, this reminds me. Um, at the Gold Coast in-person event, what I did was I gave everybody their workbooks, and inside the first page of the workbook, they all had a special affirmation card. It was just a word. And everybody had obviously chosen their seat, and then I got everyone to flip over their card. And one of my clients, Michelle, had pulled the word fun, and she's like, "Oh my God, I needed this reminder so much to have fun." And then she told me the next day, um, she went to Byron as well and was walking through some of the shops and she saw the same card deck that I had. And so she was like, "Oh." And the lady's like, "Oh, there's an open deck over there. Why don't you go pull a card?" So off she went, pulled a card from the same deck, and guess what word she got? Fun. Just two days in a row, different locations, same word. The universe is screaming at us, you guys, to enjoy and do things that brings, you know, your glow back. I... And this is so cool. You know, like, I've had so many beautiful messages from you guys just saying like, "Ruby, your glow is back. You're back." Like, um, a client of mine of a few years back, Yvonne, messaged me saying, "It feels like you're back." I had, um, Alex, who's gonna be on the podcast shortly. She's like, "Girl, you're glowing." And I, honestly, I think sometimes I get this when I'm solo traveling. I love my boys, but there's something about solo travel which brings it all back. But it's all the small things that I did that has led me to feeling like I've fallen back in love with my life and my business, starting with a glass of sparkling water. So I do have to run because we're about to have an early dinner and some hawker shop side street things, so, ah, I'm excited, uh, for just street food here in Singapore. But I want you to think about what's one thing that you can do today to get the ball rolling? What is your sparkling water? I'm happy for you to borrow sparkling water if that's your thing too. What is one thing that you can do that's just gonna be like, "Hey, universe, I'm available for more fun." Every day is a luxury holiday. What does that feel like and look like? Go and spray that expensive perfume that's sitting in the cupboard that you only spray for special occasions. Just it could be something like that. And then really think outside the square of getting out of the boring and the boredom and the apathy, and what is gonna make your day just so freaking cool. As soon as you start this ball rolling, more ideas, more flow, more creativity returns back to you. Okay. It doesn't need to be anything scary, just something around the house. So sit with that. Enjoy that. That is your challenge this week, and I am honestly like... I want to remind you that your business was never meant to be the thing you need to survive. It was meant to be the thing that funds the life that you can't wait to wake up to. Okay? Remember that. I love you all so, so much, and I will catch you all in next week's episode. Send me a message on Instagram if this resonated, and if you have any Singapore tips, I'm here for a few more days from after this podcast is published, so I will have plenty of time to go and check out your suggestions. Okay. Big love, and I'll catch you soon.
